As is usually the case, most “about us” start with educational and experiential credentials. I will share that in in a moment. But having a long path behind me, I’ve seen that spiritual strength and spiritual power does not come from the contents of a resume. It comes from depending on God through the “trial of your faith,” as 1 Peter 1:7 says. Although I highly valued my time at Baptist Bible College in Missouri and my experiences in the ministry, for me, life’s struggles and dependence on God have been a better school than college could have ever given me. And after having learned to “rightly divide the word of truth” later in my journey, it has been the single most powerful tool ever in understanding the Word of God.
I chose to attend Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, which is affiliated with the Baptist Bible Fellowship International. The Baptist Bible Fellowship was well known during the mid to late 1970’s as having the largest Baptist churches in the country, and this influenced my decision as to the college I would choose. Two alumni that are well known are Dr. Sam Davison of Heartland Baptist Bible College, and the late Dr. Jerry Falwell Sr. of Thomas Road Baptist Church and Liberty University.
In my early years I have been a choir director, youth director, assistant pastor, Christian school administrator, and pastor. I met my wife-to-be, my freshman year in college, and we have been married for 48 years. I have taught adult classes in a number of other baptist churches as a layman. I have not consistently been in the “full time” ministry. A number of years while not officially in the ministry, I just trusted the Lord in everyday life as we raised our 3 wonderful boys, who are now faithful men of God. But now, I feel like I’m just getting started. I don’t have a megachurch to minister to, as I once dreamed of, but in just the past few short months, God has blessed my online ministry to where many thousands have heard the teaching of word of God from my efforts online. I have prayed for years that God would give me a ministry again, and He gets the praise.
Generally twice per month, I have been teaching a small group of believers locally, since March 21st 2021, and so every other Sunday I have been renting the auditorium of an old Methodist church building, that now serves as a community museum, for our meetings. The old antique Methodist pulpit and furnishings, candles, etcetera, are what you see in the background of some of my videos. Soon, we hope to become a new church in town (I like to say assembly.)
